Prince Leka II, sole heir of the Albanian royal family, was received at the Magistral Palace by Grand Master Fra’ John Dunlap. The talks, also attended by the Grand Chancellor Riccardo Paternò di Montecupo and the Order of Malta’s Ambassador to Albania, Stefano Palumbo, focused on the excellent diplomatic relations whose thirtieth anniversary will be celebrated next year and on the numerous medical and social activities carried out by the Order of Malta in the Land of Eagles.

In his speech, Prince Leka II declared how ‘the challenges and upheavals facing the world today require the Order of Malta’s help, with its special vocation and charisma. A bastion of the values of Christian Europe, faithful to its traditions, the Sovereign Order of Malta has shown its capacity for innovation and dialogue, indispensable for confronting the realities of the global panorama’.
