The Ambassador of the Sovereign Military Order of Malta in Albania visited the Santa Lucia Filippini school in Berat, founded and directed by the Pontifical Institute of the Maestre Pie Filippini.

Sister Maria and Sister Bianca welcomed the Ambassador of the Order of Malta to illustrate the activities of the school, which for almost thirty years has been carrying on a reality of fundamental importance for the education of the city’s children, regardless of their religion. The Berat mission was founded in 1995.

In this land, where the communist regime wiped out God and demolished consciences, the Maestre Pie, with the simplicity of their life, their cordial welcome, their sensitivity to the people’s problems and their gradual initiation into Christian life, have reawakened hope in hearts.
