Ambassador Stefano Palumbo took part in the conference “Our Lady of Good Counsel: between faith, history and Albanian memory”, held in the distinguished setting of Sala Zuccari, at the Senate of the Italian Republic.
Promoted by the Embassy of the Republic of Albania to the Holy See and to the Sovereign Military Order of Malta, the event marked the 35th anniversary of diplomatic relations between Albania and the Holy See, as well as the 130th anniversary of the proclamation of Our Lady of Good Counsel as Patroness of Albania, on the eve of the Marian Jubilee Year.
A central moment of the conference was the address delivered by Mons. Arjan Dodaj, Metropolitan Archbishop of Tirana-Durrës and Chaplain ad honorem of the Order of Malta, who highlighted the profound spiritual, historical, and cultural significance of Marian devotion in the life and identity of the Albanian people.
Among the distinguished participants were Vilma Premti, Deputy Minister for Europe and Foreign Affairs, members of the Albanian Parliament, as well as representatives of the diplomatic corps and the clergy.
The conference offered a moment of elevated reflection on Albania’s spiritual heritage and reaffirmed the enduring bonds of friendship and shared values between Albania and the Holy See.
