On 21 March, during the Order of Malta’s Ambassador’s trip to southern Albania, he was received by the President of the Municipal Council of Vlora, Mr Ervis Mocka.

There were many points of discussion with President Mocka both on the Order’s activities in Albania and on possible cooperation in the Vlora area, which is particularly extensive and includes many smaller municipalities. President Mocka was particularly impressed by the Order’s activities in the world, aimed at helping and assisting anyone in need regardless of their religious beliefs, and an interesting discussion arose on the particular reality of religious tolerance existing in Albania since the end of the Communist dictatorship, which has led the country today to be an example of peaceful coexistence in a world wounded by many conflicts.

The meeting ended with a luncheon hosted by the Consulate General of Italy in Vlora in the presence of the Consul General of Italy in Vlora, Mrs. Palmieri, the Vice Consul Mr. Rapisardi, all the local institutions met, Bishop Monsignor Peragine, Sister Laura Roccato accompanied by her consister of the Order of the Franciscan Alcantarine Sisters of the Mission of Babice, the Generals of the Guardia di Finanza stationed in Vlora, and the Deputy Minister for Tourism Mrs. Vilma Bello.
