To express gratitude to those who provide assistance in an emergency situation and to give a tangible sign of the special contribution made by members and volunteers in specific campaigns, the Sovereign Council has established the ‘Sovereign Order of Malta Campaign Medal’.

During the days when the world stopped its pace, when the only safe place for everyone was home and distancing from the outside world, the Albanian Organization of the Order of Malta staff and volunteers did not stop their daily work, but stayed close to the families to offer their help and support despite all the difficulties.

To acknowledge the Order’s volunteers who have put their health at risk to bring aid to those directly or indirectly affected by the virus, eight volunteers of the Albanian Organization have been awarded with  the Covid-19 Medal.

Ambassador Stefano Palumbo joined the event to congratulate all the volunteers for their work and to express the gratitude of the Embassy of the Order of Malta for their daily work in supporting the communities they work at. The Archbishop of Shkoder-Pult Mons. Angelo Massafra and the President of the Albanian Organization of the Order of Malta Stefan Schwarz joined the ceremony as well.
