The Albanian Organization of the Order of Malta (Malteser Albania) has recently inaugurated a multidisciplinary centre for individuals with special needs, and in particular for Roma and Egyptian people.
This morning the Grand Master of the Sovereign Order of Malta Fra’ Matthew Festing, received the President of the Republic of Albania, Bujar Nishani, on an official visit. The President was received in the courtyard of the Grand Magistry in Rome with military honours and afterwards met with the Grand Master. President Nishani expressed his gratitude for the health and social care projects that the Order of Malta, with whom Albania has enjoyed diplomatic relations for 22 years, is running in the country.
On the occasion of the 25th anniversary of the founding of the Albanian Organisation of the Order of Malta in Shkodra, Director Maranaj Marku and the spiritual guide Frà Gazmend Tinaj went to audience with His Most Eminent Highness, the Prince and Grand Master of the Sovereign Order of Malta Frà Matthew Festing at the Magistral Palace in Rome to present him with a commemorative honour.
Volunteers of the Sovereign Order of Malta are gathering in Krakow, Poland, for the World Youth Day 2016, starting in less than a week, from 25 to 31 July.
Diplomatic corps, local authorities, religious communities and academics join the reception on the occasion of the Solemnity of St. John the Baptist, Patron Saint of the Sovereign Order of Malta hosted by Ambassador Stefano Palumbo.
Following the signing of the cooperation agreement between the Sovereign Order of Malta and Albania, His Most Eminent Highness Prince and Grand Master Fra' Matthew Festing and the Sovereign Council have decreed to award the Albanian Foreign Minister His Excellency Ditmir Bushati with the Grand Cross of the Order Pro Merito Melitensi, the Order's highest honour.
Within the framework of the excellent relations since the establishment of diplomatic relations in 1994, the Sovereign Order of Malta and the Republic of Albania signed today in Tirana a cooperation agreement.
The Ambassador of the Sovereign Order of Malta to the Republic of Albania, H.E Stefano Palumbo, and his wife Valérie hosted their second reception on the occasion of the Solemnity of St. John the Baptist, Patron Saint of the Sovereign Order of Malta.
On behalf of the Grand Master and the Sovereign Council, Ambassador Palumbo conferred the high honours on His Most Reverend Excellency the Archbishop of Tirana, Monsignor Rrok Mirdita and to His Most Reverend Excellency the Bishop of Sapa Monsignor Lucjan Avgustini.
