On the eve of the 111th anniversary of Independence, the Mayor of Tirana, Erion Veliaj, organized a reception in the honor of Albanians from all over the world gathered in Tirana to celebrate Independence Day, at the Palace of Brigades. In his speech, Veliaj recalled how, with cooperation, Albanians everywhere have supported each other in good days, but especially in bad days, as he emphasized that Tirana, today a modern city, has helped everywhere in the Albanian municipalities in the field of Albanian culture and cultivation.

Ambassador Palumbo joined those present at the official reception; representatives of the Albanian government, that of Kosovo, North Macedonia and Montenegro, representatives of the Union of Municipalities of Albania, Arbëresh municipalities, members of the diplomatic corps, public personalities and artists.
