Following the signing of the cooperation agreement between the Sovereign Order of Malta and Albania, His Most Eminent Highness Prince and Grand Master Fra’ Matthew Festing and the Sovereign Council have decreed to award the Albanian Foreign Minister His Excellency Ditmir Bushati with the Grand Cross of the Order Pro Merito Melitensi, the Order’s highest honour.

Together with Minister Bushati, Armand Skapi, Director of Treaties and International Law Department of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Pirro Vengu, Head of Cabinet of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs were also awarded the Order of Merito Melitensi at the rank of Commanders. The two ceremonies took place respectively at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs in Tirana and in the Chancellery of the Order of Malta’s Embassy, also in Tirana.
