On the occasion of the Sovereign Council held in Rome on 30 April, and in the desire to express the most sincere gratitude for having given his time, skills, dedication and passion to the activities and works of the Sovereign Military Hospitaller Order of St. John of Jerusalem, of Rhodes and of Malta, His Most Eminent Highness the Prince and Grand Master Fra’ John Dunlap and the Sovereign Council decided to confer the Cross of Officer pro Merito on Mr. Stiven Shala, First Secretary of the Embassy of the Order of Malta in Albania. After years of volunteer work for Malteser Albania in Shkodra, under the charism of our Order, with a deeply Christian spirit, Stiven Shala has continued his volunteer work by serving since 2021 in the Embassy in Tirana.

His knowledge of the diplomatic world, his expertise in the philanthropic world are just some of his qualities that everyone in Albania recognises, and the Order wished to reward him with this high honour. The decoration ceremony took place on the Solemnity of St John the Baptist.
