The traditional Christmas Mass was celebrated this morning at the San Giovanni Battista Hospital, the healthcare facility of the Italian Association of the Sovereign Military Order of Malta. The celebration, dedicated to patients, medical staff, and volunteers, was attended by the Fra’ John T. Dunlap, symbolizing the deep bond of the Sovereign Military Order of Malta with the people it assists worldwide. The Ambassador of the Sovereign Order of Malta to Albania, Stefano Palumbo, also took part in the celebration.

The liturgy was presided over by the Prelate of the Order, Mons. Luis Manuel Cuña Ramos, and concelebrated by Monsignor Maurizio Tagliaferri, Chief Chaplain of the Association, in the hospital’s tensile structure. In his homily, the celebrant recalled the values of hope, charity, and closeness to those who suffer; particularly significant during the Christmas season and within a center dedicated to neurological and motor rehabilitation.

The Mass was attended by the leadership of the Italian Association of the Order of Malta, healthcare professionals, a delegation of the Order’s Military Corps, volunteers, and numerous patients hospitalized at the facility. The celebration took place in an atmosphere of deep spirituality, enriched by the liturgical hymns performed by the choir of the Cardinal Domenico Bartolucci Foundation.

The Christmas Mass at San Giovanni Battista Hospital once again proved to be a moment of profound spiritual value, offering a concrete expression of the Order of Malta’s mission in service of the sick and the most vulnerable, a commitment shared and supported by the Embassy of the Sovereign Order of Malta to Albania.
